1. NOM is a Mexican safety certification.

Under Mexican law, the NOM licensee must be a Mexican company responsible for the quality, maintenance and reliability of the product. The test report is issued by a SECOFI accredited laboratory and is audited by SECOFI, ANCE or NYCE. 1. NOM is a Mexican safety certification.

Under Mexican law, the NOM licensee must be a Mexican company responsible for the quality, maintenance and reliability of the product. The test report is issued by a SECOFI accredited laboratory and is audited by SECOFI, ANCE or NYCE. If the product complies with the relevant regulations, a certificate is issued to the Mexican representative of the manufacturer or exporter in order for the product to be marked with the NOM mark.

· The German company Lein Mexico cooperates with the established laboratory partners to carry out safety testing of the NOM certification process for a number of products.

· Mexico has two verification units to issue NOM Mark

- NOM NYCE: The scope of verification includes all electronic and information products and data processing equipment, but does not include household appliances (except microwave ovens)

- NOM ANCE: The scope of verification includes all electrical appliances and similar products (such as home appliances)

· Not applicable to IEC standards, applicable to NOM standards

· No EMC testing required


Second, technical information

1. Mexico voltage is 127V/60Hz

2. The plug is the same as the US plug. One is Class I with three connectors and the other is Class II with two connectors. The plug will be tested with the device itself.


Third, issue a certificate

· The certificate is valid for one year and the certificate can be updated annually

· When updating the certificate, you need to randomly sample a product from the market in advance for sending it to the laboratory for testing.

· Product packaging must include the following information: product name, brand name, model number and NOM verification mark.


Fourth, the document requirements


· CB test report and certificate

· The name, address and contact person of the importer or distributor in Mexico

· Test data, design drawings, specifications and circuit diagrams

· Spanish label

· Original Spanish manual

· A sample importer or distributor needs additional documents

· A copy of the company's authorization · a copy of the company's uniform number

· Authorization Information (Power of Attorney)

· Legal agency official documents

· Letterhead with company name

· Photocopy of the registered company with tax payment certificate


Fifth. Review time


· 5~6 weeks after all documents are filed, once the NOM application is completed, the original certificate and report will be sent to the local agent in Mexico. The original company will receive a fax and the photo agent must keep the original certificate. And the report is used as a reference for future inspections.
